School

So exciting news!!! I'm finally starting school. I figured out what I want to do with my life, or at least what I want to go to school to do. I want to be a teacher, for younger kids. I'll probably end up being a math teacher because the associates degree I'm going for is really focused on math. If your wondering why math? It's always come fairly easily for me so I figured I would be able to get through those classes alot quicker and easier then anything else.
The best part about this news is that because Ricky is in the Air force I getting to go through this awesome program that let's me only have to pay $50 for my books, (I'm not sure if its per book or for all of them but either way that is a great deal) plus with the school I'm going to (online incase we end up having to move) I only have to pay $79 per semester hour. Also there is another program that if I get approved will pay for my tuition, and cover pretty much my schooling. So needless to say I'm really excited with the way life is going now.

Dog House

I finished another project! It took about three days but it's done! What did I do you may ask? Well, I will tell you, or better yet I will show you.
This master piece is the frame.
This is it all put together.
This is with the shingles on.
This is the final product.
I know it's pretty awesome! Both me and Ricky are proud of it. It's definitely not perfect but it's good enough. The only other things I want to do is put Chester's name over the door, and move it to the back yard.

4th of July

The 4th of July. It's just not the same here in Texas. I really miss home where we would wake up and go to the scout breakfast, go see the parade (or be part of the parade), spend the day with family, then going to see the fireworks by the river. They couldn't do fire works here because of the fire ban.
But to make the best of the day off Ricky and I went to the Dallas Aquarium. I've never been to an aquarium before. It wasn't huge but there was definitely alot to see. Unfortunately we forgot both cameras so all we had were our phones to take photos, so bare with me.
There were lots and lots of turtles.
I have never seen a manatee before then.
Penguins, outside in Texas. Its crazy but true.
It's Dory!
After the aquarium we went to one of the malls there and just kind of hung out. We did get some new clothes but I'm pretty sure the best find were these amazing shoes!
I have been looking for a pair of red high heels that I liked for like forever so when I saw these I just had to get them.

Photo's for Friends

So recently (I think it was last week) I took some photos for some friends in the ward. Word had gotten around that I was willing to take photos for anyone who wants them and I will even edit them, and they would get all of this for the very low price of free, because I'm still not confident enough in my skills to say they are worth more then that. But anyways, I just wanted to show my work, cause who knows if they will or not. Plus I wanted to know what anyone one out there thinks, and if they are willing to spend some time with me and my camera as guinea pigs so that I can improve my skills. But enough of my rambling already here are the photos.
 They are a cute family!
 I love that mischievous look.
There were ducks really close, so he had a hard time looking at me and not at them.
If you're wondering the spot in the water is a turtle.
I like this one cause they are all smiling. Do you know how hard it is to get everyone to smile for a photo? It's hard.
He has a feather in his ear. He just wouldn't put it down.
I had alot of fun taking the photos. I just wish I had more opportunities to take more photos. (hint hint)

Rain

So this happened a while ago but I wanted to show you all just how bad flooding in Texas can be.
These are the streets of Abilene after a good rain storm.
 Pretty crazy I know.
I'm not gonna lie its kind of cool to see that much water on the roads, but you'll never catch me driving on them.

How to make a happy Ricky

How do I make my man happy?
I let him buy some new lures and go fishing.

Our Vacation

So many, if not all of you who read this already know that Ricky and I just came back from a trip home to Idaho. We both took 3 weeks off and drove up there, and before you ask, yes it was a long drive, about 1,300 miles one way. But totally worth it. We got to see some great places and we had the freedom of having our own vehicle so that we didn't have to rely on others to get around.
We took shifts driving and taking pictures of the scenery. For the first part the only thing to really see was each other.

Me driving.
Ricky driving.
The road... and not much else...
After we got through New Mexico the scenery started getting prettier. These are a few of the pictures that we (mostly Ricky) took and I edited.
A cool hole.
The first mountains with snow we saw. Ricky hasn't seen snow for a year and was getting really excited about it.
A very pretty stream.
Train tunnels.
This is one of my favorites.
We left early on a Monday morning and were in Salt Lake by Tuesday. We stayed the night there so that Ricky could tour temple square and the conference center. It was really cool. It's been almost 5+ years since I've been there so it was great to see it again.
Ricky and me on temple square.
The Salt Lake Temple. It's so pretty.
The cobble stone was so pretty with the moss growing in between them.
The conference center.
Then we snaked over to Elko, Nevada to visit Ricky's dad. Neither of us have seen him or Lisa since our wedding 2 years ago, so it was really great to catch up with them again.
We got to see the great Salt Lake and the Bonneville Salt flats.
The Salt Lake.

I think it is a very pretty lake.
The salt flats were cool, but kind of boring. Once again not much to see.
I didn't get hardly any pictures in Elko. In fact I only got one.
This one of Ricky and his dad.
From there we made our way up to good old Idaho. It was great to be back with family. Both Ricky and I really loved it. It snowed while there so we went out and played in it.
I was a horrible aim with my snowballs.
Ricky was nice enough to not through snowballs but he did through snow at me.
We tried to build a snowman.
Ricky tried to help but when he put his ball on it smashed mine and then the snow stopped sticking together so we had to make due.
Our tiny snowman on top of the ruined one.
While there we got to go snowmobiling. Unfortunately we were having to much fun to take photos.
We did have time to take some photos of us. You'll have to tell me what you think.
Us at Ricky's mom's house.
Us out by the River on a covered bridge.
We thought it was really cool, not only cause it was pretty but also because Ken, Ricky's step-dad built it.
Us at the train bridge.
I didn't get any photos of my family. We did get a few of Ricky's little brother. He turned out to be pretty good at taking photos. They looked posed, but he did it all on is own, I just edited them.
He's getting big.
This one isn't a posed as the others but it is still cute.
This one is by absolutely favorite one of him.
It's hard being so far away from family. I really felt like we've been missing out on so much cause we live so far away. We are both ready to get out of Texas. Now if only we can get orders then we will be great.
