It's my party

Yesterday was my birthday! I turned 20. I'm finally out of my teens!!! It's kind of hard to believe, but it's true. Now normally my birthday would just get overlooked because it's 4 days after Christmas, but Ricky did his best to make it a bigger deal. It was a really good day. I got spoiled and pampered and loved. True I might have milked it . . . a lot, but I never really had real birthday for the whole day. So yesterday I did. I played a game Ricky got me for the Wii most of the day. Ricky made dinner and a birthday cake! And finally we went to go see The Princess and the Frog. I know it's more of a kids show but I wanted to see it and so we went. I really liked it. Now I just have to find out a way to make Ricky's birthday as great as he made mine. I hope I can think of something.
The picture is one that we took just before I blew out the candles on the cake that Ricky made and decorated. I loved it. He's so wonderful to me. I don't know what I would do with out him.
Oh and for some fun facts it snowed on my birthday! I'm always surprised when it snows here. It's just weird. Of course it never really lasts long but still, it snowed!
Anyways thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! It really helped make it a great day for me.

Christmas

Well this Christmas was a really good one all things considered. We found out that Ricky didn't have to work till the 30th so we really lucked out. Unfortunately we had already opened our presents under the tree. Fortunately we got a couple presents from my family yesterday that we were able to open this morning, and Santa left us some ice cream and cream soda.
Ricky had some and it looked like beer. It was pretty funny.

My brother sent me and Ricky some shirts. I really liked them.
This is mine from the front.
From the back.

His is almost exactly the same.
Also we had a snow storm Christmas eve and it stayed cold enough that the snow didn't melt, so we had a white Christmas after all.

Well after presents we made chocolate chip pancakes. They were really good.

We decided to continue that tradition from Ricky's family. After breakfast we started getting ready for dinner. It took most of the day to get ready cause we had a fairly large dinner. We invited the sister missionaries and a guy from Ricky's work came too. I was all little worried but it all turned out great. I made my first turkey and it turned out really well. After dinner we played a bunch of games. It made it feel more like being home with family.

Sister Smith is really fast at cards. I don't know how she does it but she is amazing.
Sister Ficken is super sweet and didn't get caught up in our over competitiveness.

Daniel Reindolz was the friend from Ricky's work. They both graduated in that class together. He's a really cool guy. Ricky likes him, and now he has a friend to play with on his new Xbox.

Well that all for tonight I just want to wish anyone who reads this a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with much love from the Farnsworths.

Lots of Everything.

Today was a day of great events. Well sort of. It started with Ricky graduating from phase 2 of his training. It was really just a small little thing where he got a certificate saying that he's done with phase 2 but really it's kind of big. He had to be in his blues, and the commander of... um some thing was there. Sorry I can't remember. But anyways... the funny thing was that I was the only non military person there, and I got singled out for being married to Ricky and was even offered a chance to talk but I was too embarrassed.

Ricky getting ready for work. He always looks so good in his blues.

He's doesn't look to happy but no one really is when they get ready for work.

They had me come and take a picture with Ricky when he got his certificate. The guy in ABU's is the commander, and the two guys in the back are the teachers.

After graduation we went and got a doormat. I know it's not a crazy exciting thing but we were happy to finally have something. When we got back we took the dogs for a walk. They can be a lot of fun, but also pretty destructive. They devoured Ricky's electric razor this morning after he left. I was showering and didn't hear them until after I got out. I wasn't too happy about it. but I got over it.

So for other exciting news we decided to have our Christmas tonight because Ricky has to work the 25th and I have to work tomorrow. So tonight was the night the night that we decided would work best for us. We didn't get too much but we're happy with what we got.

Ricky got Axe Hair stuff from his mom, she sent us a couple of presents to surprise.

It wouldn't rotate. Sorry. I got Dove bath stuff.

We got sheets too! I was happy about this cause we only have one set so I've had to continually wash them. This is going to be nice.

The final gift from them was these chocolate chip pancakes. Yummy.

This was me and my bike. I was pretty excited. I can't wait to ride it.

Last but not least Ricky got an Xbox. Doesn't he look so triumphant? He's been going crazy and wanting to open it for so long, cause I also got him Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

Double Trouble

So Ricky and I decided to help out a friend by watching their 2 German shepherds while he's deployed and she's going home to be with family for Christmas. They are a lot bigger then I thought they would be and they can get pretty wild at times, but they are a lot of fun.

This is Samantha. She's the older one, and it seems like the one in charge most of the time.

This is Hunter. He's still a pup. He's got tons of energy and is very vocal about everything.

It's really making Ricky want our own dog. I can't wait but I'm a little nervous about getting a dog. We both work and we want to get a puppy and puppy's are a ton of work on their own. I guess I'm just afraid that we wont be able to train it as well as we could. But soon enough we will be getting a puppy, whether I'm ready or not.

Also today we found this nativity scene.

I was really excited because I'm pretty picky about nativity scenes and I finally found one that met my standards and wasn't over $300. So we're finally basically finished decorating for Christmas, and I think I'm finally feeling the Christmas spirit and am getting excited for Christmas morning and finding out what we got from our friends and family.

Early birthday

Today I decided that I would go get my hair done. It was my early birthday present to myself. I got it trimmed and highlighted. It looks really good but costed a lot more then I thought that it would. But it's not everyday that a girl turns 20. Too bad for me thats not today either. It's after christmas. So random thought I had today... I completely missed my 19th year. All year I've felt like I was still 18. It's crazy. Anyways I have to work super early tomorrow so this is going to be a small blog. Sorry. So here are some pictures of my new hair. My hair looks great but me, as myself, I really don't look that great, so I apologize.

This one shows my hair cut pretty well.

This one show's the high lights pretty good.

Cinnamon Rolls

I didn't have to work today! So I ended up being bored most of the day and decided to clean the house. After I finished that I was still bored so I made cinnamon rolls.

This is the before cooking stage. Even then they looked pretty good.

These are the cinnamon rolls after they were cooked and frosted. They still look really good but the best part is that they taste better then they look!

Anyways I'm still bored now. Ricky had a long hard day and then he found out he's not getting a very long christmas vacation and that his shop is loosing almost half of their people for 2010. So that means that he's going to end up working a lot more, like 12 to 15 hour days and stuff. He's really stressing about it all. I wish I knew what I could do to help help him through this but I can't really do anything that would actually help the situation he's in.
I guess that I'll just have to pray that he will be able to make it through this next year and that things will get better at work for him.

Random thoughts

Pay days are always nice. Ricky got paid today, so we finally had money to go buy food. I love food. We almost ran out of food this last week. We finished off our milk this morning, not really having enough for even one bowl of cereal. Our fridge was so empty when we come home for lunch that we didn't really even have a lunch cause there was nothing to eat. Now it's packed to the gills with fruits and vegetables and all the wonderfulness that a grocery store can provide. I always feel better when we have food, cause it means that we can survive for at least another week or two, even though our paychecks seem to go so fast. I never realized how hard it is to keep money. It's all going toward bills and food and all those little things you don't really think about till your paycheck is gone and you wish you hadn't gotten them. Oh well, I guess life goes on and we just have to try to learn from our mistakes, and pray that they wont be anything so big we can't handle next time.

Sorry if my posts are a little random. It's just the randomness of thoughts that I want to share trying to organize themselves into some sort of order as I type them.

Speaking of random, I don't have to work tomorrow! Ha ha ha. I know that it has nothing to do with what I was talking about but it came to mind and I felt like sharing.

And just to have a picture with this post, here you go.

This is an older picture of Ricky. He was having fun with the camera. I like cause it shows just how cute and full of life and just how much fun he is. I love you Ricky!

Christmas shopping

Today was a day for sweats.
Ricky's mom sent us a christmas package with a few gifts and a gift card to Areo. Today we decided to go spend that gift card and got comfy sweats! They are so nice. I never want to take them off. Ricky loves his too. He's actually asleep in them right now. We both had to work today. It wasn't to bad for either of us but it was a long day. Thus the reason we wanted sweats. Well that and the suspense of waiting for christmas was getting to Ricky. He knows what he's getting and really wants it. I'm standing firm though. Not until christmas. :)

This is a full view of my sweat pants and jacket.

Ricky in his new comfy sweats, posing for the camera.

I can't believe how close it is till christmas. It feels like it's forever away and yet it's next week. I am excited for christmas but not. Most of our friends are going home for christmas to be with family. So it's just going to be me, Ricky, and possibly the sister missionaries. (We invited them over to celebrate christmas with us) Plus it doesn't help that our family is over 1200 miles away. And I guess I'm just missing my dad... He just recently died, so this year is going to be hard on me. But at the same time I feel like both me and Ricky are really going to grow closer. So all in all I'm looking forward to christmas.

Getting ready for Christmas

We finally have a Christmas tree up, decorated, and with presents underneath it. It took us quite a while to get to this point, but it's actually looking like at christmas tree. We're on a supper tight budget but we both are getting great presents. Mine is that bike you can see. It's a Felt 620. I'm so excited. Ricky is getting an xbox. He really wants to play it but he wont get it till christmas. Thats all we really can really afford. We don't really have any decorations. But we're together and that makes it totally worth it.

A brief background

I've never done a blog or even really hear of a blog before, but a couple of my friends have them and suggested that I try it, so here I am. My name is Audrey Farnsworth. I'm married to a wonderful man named Richard but I just call him Rick or Ricky. We're still newly weds in our first year of marriage. We're very different from very different backgrounds. I'm from a large family of 7, and I'm the only girl. Ricky was the youngest of three boys but his mother just had a baby boy so Ricky is no longer the youngest. I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and Ricky was raised in a Baptist home. We met in High School Choir. We dated off and on until our Senior year when he joined the LDS church. Eventually he proposed then ran off to the Air force before we could get married. We eventually found time to get married and then move. We now live in Texas. We are very happy here and are loving life.
